NEW ORLEANS COMEDY ARTS FESTIVAL TEAMS WITH MAKE BELIEVE

La Nuit Comedy Theater and the Make Believe Foundation are proud to announce another stellar lineup for the Annual New Orleans Comedy Arts Festival, running January 27-29, 2010 at La Nuit Comedy Theater, 5039 Freret Street, and Howlin’ Wolf, 907 S. Peters, New Orleans.

The three-day festival features professional comics from film and television including: The Whitest Kids U’Know, a sketch comedy troupe with their own show on the Independent Film Channel; Comedian Sean Patton who was featured on VH1’s “Behind the Music,” and who recently completed his first Comedy Central special, “Live at Gotham”; Bill Chott, actor/comedian/writer, who not only voiced some of Saturday Night Live’s funniest cartoons, but has also appeared on such television shows as the Wizards of Waverly Place, Monk, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and films including Dude, Where’s My Car? and Galaxy Quest; and James Adomian, who regularly appeared on “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” and appeared in the film Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay, both by way of his dead-on impression of former-President Bush.

Then, after the festival, join the whole funny group as we celebrate the kickoff to Mardi Gras season with the Krewe du Vieux parade!

La Nuit proudly joins forces with the Make Believe Foundation, a non-profit agency which works with children in the foster care system to help empower them to find their voices through improvisational comed

Each night, there will be two blocks of shows. Catch the early show uptown at La Nuit and the late show in the French Quarter at Howlin’ Wolf. Prices are $10-$19 with all-festival passes available for $50.

For more information, or to purchase tickets, contact the theater at (504) 644-4300.

La Nuit Comedy Theater is New Orleans’ only full-time comedy club and home to New Orleans’ most exciting and original comedy shows, including its two weekly hits “Gods Been Drinking,” a long-form improvisation team that’s twice performed at the Los Angeles Improv Festival to rave reviews, and “ComedySportz NOLA,” a national short-form improvisation comedy organization. La Nuit also features weekly open-mic stand-up and is home to the Comedy Conservatory, the Gulf South’s only comedy training center.
